Katharine (Kate) B. McGready

Katharine B. McGready (Kate), age 39, of Acworth, Georgia, died unexpectedly on December 19. She was the most beloved daughter of Thomas and Mary McGready of Ambler, Pa.

After graduating from Towson University, Kate moved to the Atlanta area in search of a new experience in a new location. She liked what she found and made the Atlanta area her home, settling in Acworth in 2000. She was a very capable and popular employee of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. in Marietta, Georgia, where she worked as a subcontract administrator. She was known for her “million dollar smile”. She was a friend and lover of all animals.

In addition to her parents, Kate is survived by her brother, John B. McGready (Roni Neff) and their sons Micah and Emmet, all of whom loved “Aunt Kate” dearly. She is also survived by her aunt, Nancy Connell (Jim) of Atlanta, and her uncles, George K. Brecht of East Norriton, Pa. and Jim McGready (Luz) of Phoenixville, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, Remaining Best Friends Program, 981 Howell Mill R. N.W., Atlanta, Georgia, 30318.

A memorial service will be held in the Atlanta area at a later date.

GUESTBOOK

I am very sorry for your loss. I was very shocked to have learned of Kate's passing. I knew Kate from her days at Towson during our freshman year. I only recently reconected with her through facebook a couple of years ago.

I am sorry for your loss. I have brecht/Bright families. I am looking to see if anyone heard of Josiah Bright and Mary A. Cowgill Bright. Son was Granville A. Bright that lived on 20 E. Lafayeete St. Norristown, Pennsylvania 1850 - about 1910.
